Factor and level
what is changed and to which settings
A factor is an input that the experiment deliberately changes, for example melt temperature. The levels are the settings used, in a 2-level design one low and one high setting, for example 210 °C and 240 °C.
Choose the levels far enough apart to produce a measurable difference but inside the range where the process still makes acceptable parts.
