Internal audit
own audit of the management system (9.2)
An internal audit checks, at planned intervals, whether the QMS meets the organisation’s own requirements and the standard and whether it is effectively implemented. Auditors must be objective and impartial and must not audit their own work.
The audit programme considers the importance of processes, changes and the results of earlier audits. ISO 19011 gives guidance on auditing.
