RTY = FPY₁ × FPY₂ × … × FPYₙ

Rolled throughput yield multiplies the first pass yields of all steps in a process. It shows how fast small losses at every step add up.

Example

Five steps, each with FPY 97 %: RTY = 0.97⁵ = 86 %. About one unit in seven needs rework or is scrapped somewhere.
